FCRC Water and Waste Wise Challenge

Last term, the Year 7s entered into the Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Water and Waste Wise Challenge. The students worked on their competition entries in English as an informative texts unit (inspired by the ISQ Curriculum Innovation and Assessment Design project) and during COPE.

On Friday, it was announced that the students were awarded first place in the Junior Secondary School category!

Year 7 has earnt themselves a prize of $250 worth of Bunnings vouchers. Four groups have also received highly commended certificates as they presented projects that were inventive and employed the concepts of reduce, reuse and recycle:

•             The compost bin made from recycled materials,

•             The layered garden bed with the ability to recycle water,

•             The beeswax wraps which saves using plastic wrapping and

•             The animated video which was a modern, creative way of demonstrating the message.

Discover the FCAC Difference Open Event

The Fraser Coast Anglican College Community invites you to discover the FCAC difference at our Open Day/Evening on Thursday 13 October commencing at 3pm.

The evening will showcase all that is exciting and innovative about our College and the unique opportunities that are offered to our students. It is also a time to celebrate some wonderful achievements and the great work completed during the year.

There will also be information sessions announcing exciting new developments in our Year Six, Seven and Ten year levels in 2017.

We will also have the unveiling of a wonderful new learning space in our Library. This area is an innovative space where students create, explore and design new information and learn new skills.

Our music and art students will showcase their musical and artistic talents with performances and art displays. Our hospitality students will provide delicious treats in the Café Piazza and a BBQ will also be operating. Several activities will be available during the evening, as well as tours of the College. Booths will display student works and provide information regarding different year levels, departments and services.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for all, or part, of this afternoon and hope you are able to attend to meet and chat informally with some of the students, staff and parents of our College.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those who will be new to the College, or are interested in enrolling in 2017 to have any questions answered, and to discover why our College community chooses to embrace and celebrate the FCAC difference.
